He specialises in delivering complex restoration solutions for commercial properties affected by disasters. His experience spans leading teams of over 1,000 personnel on single sites, managing catastrophe response operations, and providing strategic consulting for restoration and construction firms.
Rob founded BuildWise after witnessing a recurring challenge in the industry: smaller restoration companies receiving large-loss opportunities but lacking the capacity or expertise to take them on. Too often, these companies were forced to decline multi-million dollar projects, leaving significant revenue on the table.
BuildWise bridges this gap by providing the specialised support, personnel, and project management expertise that enables restoration companies of any size to confidently pursue and successfully deliver large-loss projects.

Thomas McGuire has spent four decades at the forefront of disaster recovery, earning recognition as an industry expert in commercial large-loss restoration and vital document recovery. His career includes landmark projects like the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and Hurricane Katrina's evidence recovery operation for New Orleans' Criminal Courts and Police Department.
Since 1990, Thomas has responded to every major hurricane and catastrophic weather event across the United States, with international experience spanning Singapore, Kuwait, Canada, Mexico, the West Indies, and Costa Rica. Beyond fieldwork, he has shaped the industry through innovation and education.
He developed THE EDGE v3 Estimating System for project estimation accuracy and founded Large Loss Mastery to train restoration professionals. As a published author and industry contributor, Thomas continues to advance best practices in structural restoration and disaster response management.
